The former president's Granddaughter Receives Expert Guidance from Tiger Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance
The rising star has considerable online following
Kai Trump can count on plenty of well-known supporters when she starts her professional golf debut this Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a tournament invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, operates multiple courses worldwide and frequently plays against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we have some close matches," she stated.
She mentioned that Trump, who won't be present, told her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He basically suggested to compete and relax," she added.
"In my eyes, he's just an ordinary family member. He can't make it this weekend. He's busy with world affairs, so he's rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has competed in just three tournaments recently and holds ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
But she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with her mother.
"He represents the best player worldwide," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's an even better person. He advised me to compete, relax, adapting to whatever happens."
She'll challenge some of the biggest names in the sport at this tournament, featuring world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA commented that Kai's presence helps introduce golf to different demographics, specifically among younger fans.
The social media influencer has substantial online presence and recently launched a personal clothing and lifestyle label.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
